Investment Banking Professionals
- Carl A. Saling is a Senior Vice President of The GMS Group, L.L.C.. He has 32 years of experience in all facets of the Taxable and Tax-Exempt Fixed Income industry. For the past six years, Mr. Saling has specialized in structured finance within the Industrial Development sector; and Native American Indian financing for Casino, Enterprise and Reservation Infrastructure projects. Using innovative financial engineering, he has developed and directed the structuring and distribution of numerous new issues and secondary market transactions. Prior to joining GMS, Mr. Saling served as Managing Director and National Municipal Product Manager at both Merrill Lynch & Co. and Prudential Securities, Inc.; Co-Manager of the Municipal Securities Division at Chemical Securities, Inc.; Director of Municipal Sales and Trading at S A Ramirez & Co., and as a Principal in the Municipal Bond Division of Alex Brown & Sons, Inc. He continues to actively maintain major institutional investor relationships as a channel for structuring needs and collaboration. Mr. Saling is a graduate of the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and attended the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business.
- Seema Balwada is a Vice President in the Investment Banking Department of The GMS Group, L.L.C. Seema has over seven years of experience in the corporate finance area including private equity and restructuring. Prior experience includes working as Senior Associate, Dolphin Capital, a healthcare venture fund and as Associate, Ernst & Young Corporate Finance in New York City. Her expertise includes financial/valuation analysis, financial modeling and structuring of M&A/LBO transactions and private equity/PIPE investments in various industries. Seema’s restructuring experience includes representing debtors, banks and creditors in various out-of-court restructurings/Chapter 11 bankruptcy including Teligent, Home Place of America, Inc. and Revlon. Seema holds a B.S. in Mathematical Statistics from Delhi University and earned her MBA with a concentration in Finance and Management from The Leonard N. Stern School of Business, New York University.
- Vincent J. Gulotti is a Vice President in the Investment Banking Department of The GMS Group L.L.C. Vincent has over ten years experience in financial sales, operations, capital raising and senior-living real-estate transactions. Prior to joining GMS, he was a Senior Associate in Sunrise Senior Living’s Capital Group where he played a key role in acquisitions, dispositions, and development transactions totaling over $900 million. Previously he worked as an analyst assisting technology companies raise venture capital and as a financial advisor. Vincent earned a B.A. in History from The University of Delaware and a M.S. in Finance from American University.
- John DeCree - Analyst, Investment Banking. John specializes in the analysis modeling of structured financings particularly in the healthcare, gaming and Native American finance sectors. He has amassed economic, market and sector historical and forecast data from which analysis models are built for our Investment Banking and Financial Advisory clients. John is also the author of The GMS Gaming and Native American Finance Weekly Report. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Entrepreneurship from Northeastern University. Prior to joining The GMS Group L.L.C., John worked as an analyst for the securities lending desk at Goldman Sachs. John also served as an analyst in the financial planning and budgeting department at Millennium Pharmaceuticals and as a risk analyst with Liberty Mutual Insurance Company.
